They are seeking a motivated GIS Implementation Intern to apply and grow their GIS knowledge within the electrical utility space, assisting in the configuration and implementation of GIS solutions and supporting various mapping and data tasks.

Responsibilities

Assist in the configuration and implementation of GIS solutions for electrical utility clients

Conduct spatial data analysis, data conversion, and data validation for utility projects

Support mapping tasks, including the creation of detailed network and utility asset maps

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop GIS dashboards, web applications, and mobile tools for data visualization and decision-making

Assist in field data integration and quality assurance processes

Participate in data migration efforts and ensure accurate spatial representation of electrical assets

Document workflows, data standards, and procedures for GIS implementations

Provide troubleshooting and technical support for GIS-related issues during implementation

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Familiarity with GIS software (Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or similar)

Basic understanding of geospatial data management and cartography principles

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

Knowledge of Python or SQL for GIS workflows is a plus

Interest in the electrical utility or energy sector preferred
