Geospatial Data Administrator
Ho-Chunk, Inc. is seeking a Geospatial Data Administrator to support enterprise-level Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The role involves advancing GIS modernization initiatives, managing geospatial databases, and ensuring compliance with federal standards.

Responsibilities
Provide GIS-related technical guidance, requirements analysis, and tiered service desk support for Enterprise GIS and web mapping platforms
Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts to optimize geospatial workflows and stakeholder engagement
Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities across AWS, ArcGIS Portal, and related geospatial infrastructure
Develop and enforce spatial database architecture, business rules, and integration workflows that align with legacy systems like TAAMS
Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure supporting GIS, including Microsoft OS, SQL Server, Access, and SCOM platforms
Oversee compliance with geospatial data standards such as the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), FGDC Circular A-16, and DOI policies
Create and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, SOPs, architectural diagrams, and data lifecycle procedures
Administer a secure central repository for Tribal trust land data, ownership records, tract boundaries, valuation datasets, and supporting base layers
Lead initiatives that advance enterprise GIS capabilities including standardization, interoperability, and metadata publication
Ensure timely and accurate metadata creation, update, and distribution according to FGDC and DOI requirements, supporting both privacy compliance and open data initiatives
Qualification
Required
Expertise in GIS technologies including the ESRI suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise)
Strong command of spatial database design, enterprise server management, and data lifecycle management
Experience scripting in Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript for geospatial automation
Working knowledge of TAAMS, SCOM, AWS cloud architecture, and federal IT security protocols
Ability to analyze and engineer business processes and technical workflows for geospatial applications
Familiarity with FGDC, NSDI, and open data publication requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to document complex systems clearly
Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
Minimum of 7 years' experience in geospatial database administration, preferably in a federal or tribal government environment
