Responsibilities
Assists with monitoring applications and servers for performance and security issues, and upgrade applications and servers as required for enhanced functionality and security requirements
Assists with the implementation and administration of the database environment, including security patches and upgrades
Assists with application implementation to include application, database, and user security
Perform support functions as required by Supervisor in order to fulfill corporate and department goals as specified
Responsible for ensuring the success of PowerSouth by promoting team work, group goals and objectives, proper communication and cooperation within the department, division, throughout the PowerSouth organization and with member systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a closely related area
One (1) year of system administration experience, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position
High-level problem-solving skills
Analytical and critical thinking capabilities
Operational knowledge of operating systems (UNIX and/or Windows)
Server virtualization knowledge
Operational knowledge of relational databases
Knowledge of programming languages
Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on servers and equipment
Ability to communicate with all levels of CIS personnel
Degree of creativity and latitude
