Civil/Water Resources Project Engineering Specialist
STV is a company looking for a Civil/Water Resources Project Engineering Specialist in their Transportation & Infrastructure division. The role involves using hydrologic and hydraulic software, preparing technical reports, and providing design services for transportation improvement projects.

Responsibilities
Use hydrologic and hydraulic software such as OpenRoads Designer (StormCAD), Geopak Drainage, and HEC-RAS modeling
Use CADD and mapping software including OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and ESRI ArcGIS
Prepare various technical reports in support of transportation project drainage designs
Produce quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
Prepare Storm Water Management Reports and culvert/bridge hydrologic & hydraulic studies
Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects, including storm drains, culverts, storm water management, green stormwater, ESD/LID facilities, and erosion and sediment control
Coordinate permitting through various water management districts including NPDES permit requirements of municipalities and other government entities
Participate in project development meetings with client teams
Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
Establish working relationships with internal disciplines and project managers within STV
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Engineering (Civil, Biological, Agricultural, or another related discipline)
A minimum of 2 years of experience of Water Resources and Storm Water Design Engineering - design of storm drains, culverts, storm water management, BMPs, erosion and sediment control, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, Floodplain studies, environmental permitting, and cost estimating
Strong inter-personal skills for client interaction and collaboration with other engineering disciplines
Use hydrologic and hydraulic software such as OpenRoads Designer (StormCAD), Geopak Drainage, and HEC-RAS modeling
Use CADD and mapping software including OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and ESRI ArcGIS

Preferred
Experience in the North Carolina transportation field is desirable due to the unique nature of Erosion/Sediment Control and Stormwater Management permitting
Candidate should possess knowledge and experience of NC Department of Transportation and Local government design and permitting requirements
