Maintenance Control Operations Manager

Responsibilities

Provide operational oversight of Maintenance Controllers and maintenance activity across the fleet
Serve as the single management point of contact for the mechanical status of all aircraft, maintaining continuous awareness of fleet conditions
Ensure safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness in all maintenance control activities
Liaise with the SOC, Flight Operations, Line Maintenance, Planning, Engineering, Quality Control, and Supply Chain to minimize disruptions during irregular operations
Oversee MEL/CDL/ETOPS/LLM compliance and ensure deferred items are corrected promptly
Monitor and report on maintenance delays, cancellations, and trends
Provide leadership in accident/incident response in accordance with the Emergency Response Guide
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Maintenance Controllers, including staffing schedules, performance reviews, and hiring/onboarding
Drive cultural alignment by fostering professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
Lead organizational change by effectively communicating priorities, guiding Controllers through transitions, and embedding new processes
Act as a mediator between operational groups to resolve conflicts related to work priorities and planning. Manage and oversee the Maintenance Control function to ensure safety, compliance, and operational needs

Qualification

FAA Mechanic CertificateAircraft maintenance experienceAviation safety standardsSupervisory experienceMaintenance tracking systemsDecision-making under pressureCommunication skillsTeam management

Required

FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
Minimum of 5 years of experience working on 737 or similar type aircraft
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in commercial airline maintenance operations
Strong understanding of aviation safety standards, FAA regulations, and airline maintenance operations
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to make timely, sound decisions under operational pressure
Experience managing cross-functional teams in a 24/7 operational environment

Preferred

Previous Maintenance Control leadership experience at a Part 121 airline
Familiarity with TRAX or similar maintenance tracking systems
Demonstrated success in safety and cultural transformation initiatives
