Responsibilities

Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate and individual tax services including planning, research, compliance, provision work, and mergers and acquisitions activities, and assist with new business development related to these tax services
Recognize, research, and recommend resolutions for moderate to complex tax issues
Carry out research and analyze tax consequences to determine appropriate tax treatment of domestic and international taxation specifically in consolidated tax returns and reorganization
Conduct tax due diligence and prepare reports
Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on helping to provide industry knowledge and experience
Develop, motivate, and train staff-level team members

Required

Minimum eight years of recent public accounting and/or corporate tax experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
Fluent in both English and Japanese
Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters, including provision and advisory experience, with a working knowledge of the application of ASC 740
Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information
Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams
