Water Permit Technician
The City of Aurora is seeking a Water Permit Technician to join their Aurora Water team. This role involves calculating and collecting fees associated with water and sewer connection permits, managing stormwater fiscal securities, and coordinating project logistics to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Calculate and collect fees for water and sewer connection permits
Calculate and collect fees for stormwater and erosion control permits
Manage and refund stormwater fiscal securities
Create, track and communicate new accounts to the billing team
Schedule inspections for water and sewer line service
Track and collect service line inspections fees
Research and issues development fees
Reviews various building permits
Communicate closely with the development review team
Develop monthly and quarterly reports for wholesale districts Metro Wastewater and City and County of Denver fee calculations
Work in the Amanda systems
Facilitate and coordinate project logistics such as verifying, completing and maintaining project documents
Upload and manage Aurora Water documents to Stellent (Oracle) for both internal partners and external customers to view
Work with IT to develop additional functionalities in the system in use
Find workflow and communication efficiencies and implement
Review, develop and update Standard Operating Procedures
Performs additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in business, engineering technology, finance or related field
At least two (2) years of professional-level experience in business, finance or engineering
General proficiency in MS Office product
Knowledge of municipal design criteria, fee structures, fee calculations and specifications
Easily learn and operate new computer programs
Interpret engineer drawings, standards, and specifications
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, consultants, and citizens
Excel at communication with parties both inside and outside the City
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Perform as a task manager for complex projects
Handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
Be a creative thinker who is driven by opportunities to continually improve
Work effectively with a diverse group of people
Take initiative in identifying problems and solution
Handle multiple projects simultaneously and use good judgment in prioritizing work
Behave and make decisions consistent with the City of Aurora values and Water vision and missions
