Responsibilities
Audit and validate the design of professional billing workflows, including:
Charge capture
Claims submission
Denials management
Collections processes
Evaluate billing processes to ensure complete and accurate revenue capture across both risk-based and fee-for-service payment models
Provide subject matter expertise on collections workflows, including primary and secondary billing processes
Review and advise on billing design related to:
Clinical care delivery
Laboratory services (e.g., Quest Labs and similar vendors)
Point-of-care testing
Preventive care exception lab services
Condition monitoring testing
Assess workflows for insurance denials, secondary payer billing, and follow-up processes
Review and advise on billable vs. non-billable codes, charge flags, and standard collections-related configurations
Collaborate with operational, clinical, and technical teams to recommend improvements and best practices
Qualification
Required
Senior-level experience in Revenue Integrity, professional billing, and collections within healthcare organizations
Strong background in Value-Based Care and primary care billing models, including fully risk-based arrangements
Demonstrated experience auditing and/or designing professional billing workflows
Charge capture processes
Claims submission and collections
Deep understanding of payer requirements, preventive care coverage rules, and denial workflows
Experience working with laboratory and diagnostic billing processes
Ability to identify gaps in revenue capture and recommend corrective actions
Preferred
Experience building or designing professional billing workflows in Epic, including familiarity with Resolute Professional Billing
Prior experience leading or supporting large-scale revenue integrity assessments or redesign initiatives
Consulting experience supporting healthcare organizations during billing optimization or transformation efforts
