Responsibilities
Originate, structure, and close commercial loans, including Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) transactions
Develop new business through active calling efforts, networking, and community involvement
Build and manage a high-quality commercial loan portfolio
Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and collateral to assess credit risk
Prepare and present credit requests in accordance with bank policies
Maintain strong relationships with borrowers and serve as a trusted financial advisor
Collaborate closely with senior management and credit partners, with direct access to decision-makers
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal credit standards
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in commercial lending
Experience with both CRE and C&I lending as a generalist
Formal credit training and/or prior experience in a credit role
Strong understanding of commercial underwriting and credit analysis
Proven ability to source new loans and build a portfolio
Established network and market presence in San Marcos and the surrounding area
Excellent relationship management, communication, and business development skills
