Electrical Designer

Responsibilities

Completing Electrical & Instrumentation Designs for Project Team Lead’s (PTLs)
Designing and developing electrical circuit and system layouts for electric power distribution
Designing and developing process control loops, including loop diagrams and schematics
Developing and enhancing new and current circuit solutions
Forecasting electrical & control panel costs
Preparing specifications and test requirements documents
Prepare and issue various electrical and instrumentation packages (Issue for Bid/Review/Construction)
Ensure that electrical and process control systems work effectively, safely, and in an environmentally friendly way
Completing administrative duties and delivering high-quality customer service, such as consulting with clients, scheduling appointments, and managing paperwork
Provide support during the initial design phase
Diagnosing electrical and process control issues by reading diagrams and blueprints
Identifying and mitigating safety hazards, code violations and other electrical issues
Organizing and maintaining electrical blueprints, diagrams, and other design documents

Required

High school diploma
5+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design
Performs all duties in a safe working manner, following all safety policies and procedures
Stay current with electrical code
Onboarding and training helper and apprentice electricians and organizing workflow
Autodesk CAD & Vault experience required
Knowledge of NFPA 70E required
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to self-manage and adapt quickly to changing demands
Knowledge of function-specific information systems
Ability to work overtime as needed
Effectively communicate both verbally and written with operators, engineers, vendors, and leadership
Client relationship management
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time
Ability to kneel, squat, bend, crawl, reach, and maneuver in small spaces

Preferred

Degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting preferred
Knowledge of NFPA 497/499 preferred
