Graduate Research Appointment - Smith Edwards Lab (Limited Tenure)
Mayo Clinic Healthcare London is seeking a Graduate Research Appointment participant for their Smith Edwards Lab. This role provides a post-baccalaureate laboratory research experience focused on biomedical research, specifically investigating the neural pathways of the Gut-Brain Axis.
Responsibilities
Executing experimental studies in support of ongoing projects investigating the neural pathways of the Gut-Brain Axis that regulate motility, pain, and inflammation
Assisting in the design and planning of experiments
Collecting and analyzing data
Communicating results to lab team members
General lab upkeep
Qualification
Required
Post-baccalaureate degree in a relevant field
Interest in biomedical research
Experience in executing experimental studies
Ability to assist in the design and planning of experiments
Skills in collecting and analyzing data
Ability to communicate results to lab team members
Familiarity with in vivo and ex vivo calcium imaging techniques
Experience with optogenetic approaches in transgenic mouse models
Knowledge of motility assays, dissections, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry
Ability to perform general lab upkeep
