0+ years expCDM Smith is looking for an Environmental Scientist in Tampa to work within our Environmental Services Team. The role involves conducting site investigations, performing environmental sampling, and assisting in the preparation of environmental studies under supervision.
Responsibilities
Performs basic compilation and analysis of site data
Assists with the application of site data to further the preferred project approach
Conducts field site investigations
Performs soil, water, air, etc. sampling, wetland delineation, wildlife/habitat surveys, and similar site investigations and documentation of results
Assists with the preparation of environmental studies (e.g., NEPA documents, field reports, feasibility studies, etc.) of basic complexity
Collaborates with scientists, engineers, and construction staff to implement the approved approach (e.g., restoration, remediation, etc.)
Provides advice and expertise on the selected project approach
Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc
Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals
Performs other duties as required
May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline

An appropriate and valid driver's license is required
Basic knowledge of standard field protocols for their respective discipline
Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.)
Good written and verbal communications skills
Basic knowledge of scientific methods and processes
Basic knowledge of regulations (federal, state, and local) governing environmental review and project implementation
