Operations Manager at Trust Records

This newly created position will involve establishing processes and systems to enable scale as Trust Records acquires music catalogs, managing external partners, and overseeing day-to-day operations to generate value from acquired assets.

Responsibilities
Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives for Trust Records as a catalog driven label and as an acquisition vehicle
Work smart, functioning as the glue between various outsourced partners, setting clear expectations, and running an effective operation
Oversee and execute day-to-day label operations across multiple functions
Design, implement, and optimize operational systems, workflows, and processes to onboard catalog and support growth
Manage and optimize relationships with key external partners, including distributors, administrators, and service providers (e.g., Kobalt, Equal Vision)
Support the acquisition and administration of recorded, publishing, name and likeness, and related rights
Establish foundational Product Management process and playbooks, and create and run marketing plans for each priority record
Support initiatives to increase streaming performance, fan engagement, and community building
Create and execute a promotional strategy for each priority record, re-issue or physical release
Play a key role in planning and launching Trust Records’ New York City retail and office space
Oversee office operations
Select and oversee vendor relationships as the organization scales
Oversee the royalties function, leveraging outside administration and software where appropriate
Manage performance of the catalog and provide reporting to the founders and investors to support effective decision making
Hire, manage, and develop a team as business needs and economics allow
Qualification
Required
10 or more years of experience in the music industry including in operations or leadership roles
Multifunctional background spanning some combination of catalog acquisitions, catalog marketing, label or artist operations, product management, artist relations, DSP relations, marketing and digital strategy, social media and community engagement, royalties and rights management, licensing, merchandising, distribution, office and business operations
Experience gained at some combination of music catalog acquisition vehicles, record companies, music distributors, artist management firms, or artist-owned labels
Strong budgeting skills, and financial and data analysis acumen
Smart, curious, resourceful and solution oriented
Highly self-directed, trustworthy, and resourceful with a proven ability to figure things out and execute
Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills
Deep passion for music and supporting the legacy of artists
Respect for and understanding of the cultural significance of punk and hardcore culture
Preferred
Experience at independently owned and/or investor-backed music companies strongly preferred
Personal or professional connection to punk and hardcore or related genres is a strong plus
