Manager Perioperative Strategy and Operations

The Manager of Perioperative Strategy and Operations will be responsible for leading strategic growth plans, financial planning, and operational excellence within the surgical divisions, while ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in perioperative care.

Responsibilities
Collect data and information about OR access and utilization, prepare analyses and reports using published standards to identify progress and adverse trends, and making recommendations and implementing changes when needed. Create and maintain databases to ensure the availability of accurate and timely data analyses

Create and submit monthly data/statistical reports. Partner with Perioperative leadership in developing performance targets, reporting variances and creating remediation plans
Lead the development and execution of all strategic growth plans and related strategic projects for surgical divisions
Lead the quarterly business reviews and strategic growth work team meetings to ensure execution of surgical growth plans and operational excellence
Assist the Director and Surgeon in Chief in the development, implementation and management of the capital and operating budgets using the enterprise-wide standards and processes
Challenge systems, processes and methodologies that are not working for the financial health and stability of the department in positive and productive ways
Provide financial planning, analysis and decision support to the Director, Surgeon in Chief and Nurse Managers and other stakeholders
Identifies opportunities to increase revenue through correct coding, documentation and compliance
Participates as requested in activities to establish case rates for third-party payers
In coordination with OR Leadership and Nurse Managers, negotiate resource allocation and direct work teams to achieve revenue/expense objectives
Provide ongoing assessment of revenue cycle, and provide remedial plans as needed
Assists with program/service line development and fiscal/margin enhancement by developing business plans. Research and respond to new business prospects
Works with vendors to ensure appropriate contract pricing and applicability of new products. Participates in the education of all new supplies and equipment
Oversees the acquisition and value analysis of all new product requests
Ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of Perioperative care
Monitor systems, identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI), making recommendations and implementing changes to improve quality of care and outcomes through resource utilization, operational assessments and productivity management working with all related departments to ensure success
Participate in organizational service excellence initiatives
Foster an environment that stimulates open communication, creativity and imagination
Facilitate communication across all areas of the organization
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required in field related to business or health care operations
Minimum 2 years health care experience required
Excellent computer skills to include and access databases
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
Proficient in market/competitive analysis, financial analysis, issue identification implications development and the recommendations/action preparation. Experience in presentation of such data is required
Experience in physician relations or strategy strongly desired
Exceptional customer service, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with complex systems and processes that affect multiple areas

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows; intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
