Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate matters, including governance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate structuring
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements
Manage and resolve disputes, including litigation and arbitration, in collaboration with external counsel when necessary
Collaborate with product development teams to ensure new products and services comply with relevant security and regulatory standards
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly data privacy laws and regulations
Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and its customers
Support the transformation of legal operations through AI and emerging legal technology, including contract review, legal research, and compliance monitoring
Identify opportunities to streamline legal processes and reduce friction
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience at a nationally recognized law firm and/or in-house legal department
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the bar in the state in which you reside
Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn new areas of law and compliance as the business grows
Strong background in regulatory compliance, bonus points for expertise in data privacy, FTC and/or IRS regulations
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail, business judgment, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal skills and sense of humor
