Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Identify and manage technical and programmatic risks/opportunities. This includes technical, scope (i.e., cost and schedule), asset and safety risks and opportunities specific to program and project execution. Risk management includes identifying, documenting, communicating, developing mitigation plans and collaborating with your peers & program leaders to drive outcomes to program acceptable levels
Coordinate and partner with Enterprise functions such as Operations and Supply Chain to drive product cost and meet delivery objectives
Partner with other Business Units and centralized Blue avionics hardware teams on driving electronic hardware design and component re-use
Oversee the full lifecycle of your employees including talent acquisition, employee development, and when needed, performance management
Foster an environment of continuous growth and learning, ensuring compliance with HR processes and policies
Own the overall lifecycle of assigned avionics hardware products from development through qualification/ rate production and successful cost-optimized commercial flight operations
Manage interdisciplinary engineering tasks for overall system success
Ensure the quality of engineering outputs, providing technical direction and guidance to the team
Participate in program level technology development, mission assurance and safety initiatives, and avionics development process improvements
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field and 10+ years of experience developing electronic systems
10+ years of experience in a relevant engineering field, with significant experience in avionics and/or embedded hardware product development and maintenance
2+ years of project management and/or management experience
Basic knowledge across relevant engineering disciplines, including requirements negotiation, design, development, analysis, verification, and vehicle integration
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
Track record of leading and managing teams to deliver complex safety critical avionics hardware products
Preferred
Experience in aerospace hardware/electronics development
Direct hands-on experience and expertise developing electronic hardware products (analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, analysis, test, and debug and manufacturing)
Develop electronic circuits, printed circuit boards, as rugged electronic hardware assemblies across the entire product life-cycle; including concept and requirements definition, design, prototyping, verification (power-on, functional / acceptance / qualification testing) and release to production. Demonstrated expertise designing high-reliability, safety-critical, Class 3 board assemblies
Lead developers of analog instrumentation measurement circuity, embedded processing, and mixed-signal designs. These systems connect with sensors and electromechanical/electro-hydraulic actuators. Designs include analysis, schematics, PCB layout and characterization
Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles
FPGA development experience is a plus
Familiarity Altium (or similar tools) to design complex aerospace boards; and experience working with external board manufacturing and assembly vendors
