Responsibilities
Produce and independently update electrical drawings including one-line diagrams, cable schedules, panelboard layouts, MCC configurations, grounding plans, and control schematics using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools with minimal oversight
Perform and document engineering calculations (load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit checks, cable sizing, fault current estimation, lighting layouts) ensuring alignment with NEC, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, IEC, and client design standards
Develop portions of electrical design packages including specifications, equipment data sheets, construction details, and scope documents for EPC deliverables
Participate in design reviews, resolve drawing conflicts, incorporate redlines, and verify field construction by comparing design intent to real-world installation constraints
Lead planning, design, installation, modification, and commissioning of power distribution systems for new construction, upgrades, and renovations
Maintain and update accurate as-built electrical documentation following commissioning and project turnover
Provide technical troubleshooting for power distribution equipment, control systems, VFDs, instrumentation wiring, and production electrical loads to maintain uptime and reliability
Support commissioning activities by performing equipment function checks, breaker testing, torque verifications, and assisting with energization planning and safety protocols
Prepare engineering documentation for RFIs, change notices, design modifications, and technical justifications supporting EPC project execution
Provide engineering consulting, feasibility studies, and installation packages for hook-up, relocation, or demolition of power systems
Support engineering efforts related to medium-voltage distribution (5kV-35kV), low-voltage systems, lighting design, grounding/bonding, and emergency/backup power systems
Maintain as-built drawings, review electrical specifications, and analyze system usage through monitoring software
Analyze system performance data, identify reliability risks, and recommend preventive maintenance strategies for electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, UPS, MCCs)
Assist with root-cause analysis of equipment failures, power-quality disturbances, or operational disruptions, providing engineering recommendations for corrective actions
Develop or refine electrical O&M procedures, LOTO workflows, inspection templates, and safety documentation aligned with NFPA 70E and site policies
Perform technical evaluations using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower for arc-flash analysis, breaker coordination reviews, and short-circuit studies
Interpret codes, standards, and engineering specifications to ensure electrical system designs and installations remain compliant and optimized for performance
Serve as system owner of electrical operations, including load balancing, arc-flash studies, and power-quality analysis
Foster best practices by collaborating across engineering disciplines and Panasonic sites
Support mentoring of Level I engineers and promote knowledge sharing
Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules while coordinating contractors, consultants, and regulatory compliance
Review vendor submittals, evaluate technical compliance, and provide engineering recommendations to procurement and construction teams
Collaborate proactively with mechanical, controls/automation, safety, commissioning, and construction teams to resolve interdisciplinary issues and maintain EPC project alignment
Develop relationships and communicate with engineers across disciplines and at other Panasonic sites to foster best-practice sharing and alignment
Ensure engineering calculations and designs comply with NEC, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, IEC, and client standards
Support commissioning activities involving safety protocols and verification steps (breaker testing, torque checks, energization planning)
Ensure O&M procedures, LOTO workflows, and safety documentation comply with NFPA 70E and site EHS policies
Validate electrical installations through field reviews to ensure alignment with design intent, safety codes, and quality requirements
