Program Manager, Clinical Informatics

The Program Manager in Clinical Informatics will provide leadership to enhance clinical practice and information technology, develop policies, and ensure effective training for staff in using the Epic electronic health record system.

Responsibilities
Provides leadership to achieve unit, departmental, and institutional objectives within a rapidly changing environment
Applies advanced knowledge of clinical practice, unit operations, clinical informatics, research, quality and safety, and professional development to bridge clinical practice and information technology (IT), enhance quality and safety, and build staff competence in IT
Promotes innovation and excellence in clinical, service, and team performance
Develops policy and procedures related to clinical support and nursing work within the Epic electronic health record (EHR)
Assures that Epic curriculum for operational, clinical support staff (RNs and CMAs), and providers reflects optimized team-based practice and optimizes efficiency
Represents ambulatory nursing practice as a Clinical Specialist and Business Owner within the Epic project team
Acts as Nursing Leader chair the Clinical Integration Committee
Qualification
Required
Master's degree from an accredited school is required
Requires five years of experience as a registered nurse; must have demonstrated leadership and/or complex project management experience, and at least 3 years' experience with computer systems and applications
Must have experience with Epic ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) software
Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland with eligibility to obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse in other states and jurisdictions
Ability to apply adult learning principles to teach, and to assist others to teach informatics competencies to health care personnel
Advanced verbal, non-verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships
