Responsibilities
Providing design service for both walk-in and trade customers
Coordinating lighting items with the desired style and other elements in the space
Assisting with product selection in the showroom and online
Meeting and striving to exceed sales goals
Managing relationships with trade customers
Completing projects by deadline
Following orders through from start to delivery
Qualification
Required
Having a keen eye for design and an appreciation for different aesthetic styles is a top requirement
Design consultants are knowledgeable of what products work in different spaces and the amount of light needed for its function
Able to mix items at price points to meet budget requirements
Warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and experts at design and project management
Solid customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and manage their time assisting walk-in customers and completing projects by deadline
Possesses a ‘can-do', positive attitude toward the everyday tasks and sales goals
Knowledgeable of lighting products and retail environment
Has experience designing residential and/or commercial projects
Driven to meet sales goals and grow trade accounts with sales efforts
Manage relationships with trade customers – contractors, developers, designers, and more
Excellent time management skills, with ability to assist walk-in customers and complete projects meeting customer deadlines
Knowledgeable of, or able to learn, the Windward database program and website
Capable of following orders through from start to delivery, ensuring order is complete and handling issues as they arise
Basic computer skills required
Ability to work occasional Saturdays and Monday evenings
Represent the company at industry and community events
Preferred
Interior design education preferred
Sales experience preferred but not required
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Be a collaborative, team player
Occasional travel to off-site events such as local home show and industry functions, training, and other events
