Education

Responsibilities

Assist member districts with loss prevention and compliance programs with respect to safety and reducing workplace injuries

Identify hazardous activities and conditions which exist in school buildings

Advise member units with technical facility-related issues and legislative matters as necessary

Provide in-service education on a variety of safety related issues on site/regionally and through digital means

Required

Experience and/or knowledge of safety procedures

Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements in schools

Experience in loss prevention including injury prevention and safety

Ability to develop and foster relationships with a variety of school staff or other organizations

Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of school staff from custodians to facility managers to superintendents

Possession of a valid Maine driver's license

Willingness and ability to travel frequently and remain away from home for up to a week at a time to complete district inspections
