Engineer I / II/ III - $1000 Sign - on Incentive

The role involves performing advanced engineering work, supervising engineering activities, and managing various projects related to water and wastewater systems.

Responsibilities
Performs advanced engineering work
Provides supervision over one or more major engineering activities
This is advanced professional engineering work with extensive supervisory duties
An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for supervising subordinates in one or more phases of engineering
Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the designated supervisor
Performs routine engineering assignments
This is an entry-level classification performing professional engineering work
Work is performed with some independence under the limited supervision of the designated supervisor
Performs advanced engineering work
Provides quality assurance oversight and support for Engineer I / II
Project Manager of utilities capital improvement projects for projects in the areas of wastewater force mains renewal/rehabilitation program or utilities coordination/relocation due to transportation (road) projects
The Wastewater Force Mains Renewal and Rehabilitation program evaluates and replaces existing force mains to maintain the integrity of the wastewater system
The Utilities Coordination and Relocations includes the coordination with right-of-way owners (FDOT, CFX, County and others) during road improvements projects
The position manages projects from planning through land acquisition, design, permitting and construction
Conduct public meeting, make project presentations and respond to questions and requests from Orange County residents, Utilities Operating Divisions and other Orange County Departments
Performing other related duties as required and as requested by Supervisor
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and one (1) year of utilities engineering related experience
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, and four (4) years of utilities engineering related experience
Must possess and maintain a Professional Engineer license from the Florida State Board of Professional Engineers or be able to obtain it within (6) six months from date of hire
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Drivers License
Preferred
Experience as a Project Engineer and/or Project Manager in the design of water and wastewater conveyance infrastructure
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, ESRI and other database systems
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills
Familiar with the Orange County Standards and Construction Specifications Manual
