General Maintenance Technician II (OIDD-Whitten)
NEOGOV is seeking a General Maintenance Technician II to join the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The role involves maintaining building hardware, repairing equipment, and performing locksmith duties to ensure a safe and functional environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities
Uses hand power tools to keep individual use related equipment in repair requires heavy and bulky lifting
Repairs and maintains roofing, guttering and attic ventilation
Uses skills as locksmith to repair, replace, install and re-key locks and locking devices
Cuts keys from blanks, makes keys from keying formulas
Re-keys locks to Whitten Center Master System and to pass keys as needed
Repairs exit devices, cylinder and mortise tocks and some padlocks
Uses ladder, scaffold and sometimes work out of bucket lift truck to replace burned out or broken incandescent fluorescent or high-pressure sodium light bulbs
Cleans fixtures and covers while servicing fixtures
Replaces broken glass, mirrors and plexiglass
Removes broken glass fragments from windows, doors and frames
Measures for replacement and cuts replacement from stock
Install new glass using glazing putty
Measures and orders special glass, plexiglass and mirrors
Requires working with sharp and dangerous material
Works with special glazing tools, hammers, chisels, putty knives and work with ladders
Performs sheet rock, ceiling and floor tiling repair
Works with heavy and bulky items such as doors and partitions, etc
Replaces, repairs, or builds and installs, shelving, cabinetry
TV/console cases, doors, windows, mirrors hand soap dispensers, blind/shades, floor tiles, handrails, chairs, moldings and casings
Requires working with sharp tools and materials
Performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Trades experience that is directly related to the area of employment
A valid drivers license
Preferred
At least a high school education or equivalent
Experience in Carpentry/Locks
Ability to read and write
Computer skills
General knowledge of all types of locking devices, including door entry, passage sets, panic devices, cabinet locks and padlocks
Ability to become familiar with Whitten Center's Corbin Master Key System
Ability to measure and cut all types of glass
General knowledge of carpentry, masonry, painting, sheetrock and ceiling systems
Good communication skills both oral and written
Ability to maintain records on materials needed and used
