SENIOR ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN
The State of New Hampshire is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to assist with financial accounting and reporting functions. The role involves reviewing financial transactions, creating budgets, and maintaining accurate records in the NH FIRST system.

Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains a system to track expenditures and monitor agency budgetary control accounts
Prepares financial reports on account status and interpretive financial reports for data required by state and federal government, ensuring compliance with federal grant requirements
Reviews Detail Transaction Register and prepares financial reports for the Director and Council
Designs and audits statistical reports; responsible for collecting data, analyzing, and presenting a variety of accounts receivable data
Calculates, processes, and reconciles bills, invoices, cash reports, payment vouchers, employee leave balances, usage, and accruals; maintains and updates accurate records of daily operational financial transactions such as travel, inventory, payroll, maintenance and repair charges, and other expenditures
Enters and maintains personnel and payroll information and submits position and employee transactions in the NH FIRST system; acts as agency liaison with the Division of Personnel for human resources and payroll matters
Develops federal and state budget proposals and financial reports
Confers with federal, state, and agency staff to collect and report data required for state and federal reporting requirements
Prepares contracts and required attachments
Qualification
Required
Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school
Education and experience may be in accounting, auditing, business management or a related field
