They are seeking Experienced Structures & Systems Design Engineers to support a spacecraft development program, providing leadership and technical expertise in the design and development of multiple space vehicles.

Responsibilities

Manage small IPT teams in developing structural configuration layouts
Manage team member progress and output
Model initial concepts of new or modified aerostructures using CREO Parametric
Generate and mature design concepts to the customer’s specified level of definition, which may be limited to lofted surface definition and Interface Control Models (ICM), or extend to the development of individual component models, assemblies, and installation models and release of production drawings or MBDs
Ensure collaboration between Design and Analysis groups is occurring seamlessly to incorporate structural sizing and other analytical requirements
Manage the product definition within the Windchill PDM environment
Present and support the generation of reports and presentation materials for internal and customer design reviews, Preliminary and Critical Design Review (PDR & CDR)
Primary and secondary aerospace structures (metallic and composite)
Control surfaces and actuation systems
Integrated pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical system installations
Cryogenic Fluid Tube Design & Routing
Aerospace mechanical systems
Propulsion system installations

Required

Minimum of 5 years of applied experience as a Design Engineer
Understanding of aerospace engineering principles, aerospace primary structures or concepts related to metallic and composite aircraft systems and structures
Experience Performing Systems/Structural Layouts, including presentations at PDR/CDR
Design applicants should have experience with CAD design specific to working with CREO Parametric or other similar CAD software
Structures & Systems Design Engineers should also be familiar with aerospace structures, aerospace systems or engineering drawing development and release
Applicants should be cognizant of design for weight, producibility, durability, and customer-specific needs
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must function well in a multi-disciplinary team
U.S. citizenship or a ‘Green Card' is required
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent

Preferred

CREO Parametric experience is a plus
Experience Leading Systems/Structural Layouts is a plus
Knowledge in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009 drafting standard is a plus
