Professor or Associate Professor Chair, Department of Internal Medicine
UTMB Faculty Group Practice is seeking a visionary Department Chair to lead the Department of Internal Medicine. The Chair will oversee educational, scientific, and clinical programs while ensuring optimal resource management and fostering faculty development and clinical productivity.

Provide leadership and direction in expanding clinical services within the division
Demonstrate aptitude for collaboration, innovation, and program development
Advocate for the university’s academic, clinical, teaching, and research missions
Exhibit effective written and oral communication skills and thrive in a team environment
Qualification
Required
M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree
Board-certified in Internal Medicine
Holds the rank of Professor or Associate Professor
Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Texas
Provide leadership and direction in expanding clinical services within the division
Demonstrate aptitude for collaboration, innovation, and program development
Advocate for the university's academic, clinical, teaching, and research missions
Exhibit effective written and oral communication skills and thrive in a team environment
Preferred
Nationally recognized for scientific achievement
NIH-funded with a proven track record of research excellence
Comprehensive understanding of a medical school hospital environment
A working leader with a high awareness of today's academic healthcare landscape
Highly collaborative, with a strong focus on patient care
