Sam Houston State University is seeking an individual broadly trained in Cell or Molecular Biology for a tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. The role involves teaching various courses, developing new electives and graduate courses, and establishing a funded research program.

Teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, lecture and lab courses in Eukaryotic Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Histology or Genetics
Develop upper-level undergraduate electives relevant to pre-medical students
Develop graduate courses in their area of expertise
Develop an externally funded research program involving undergraduates and masters-level graduate students
Conduct collaborative research within the Department of Biological Sciences

Required

The successful candidate will have earned a B.S. and a Doctoral degree in a Life Sciences discipline
Teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, lecture and lab courses in Eukaryotic Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Histology or Genetics
The successful candidate will be required to develop an externally funded research program involving undergraduates and masters-level graduate students in addition to conducting collaborative research within the Department of Biological Sciences

Preferred

Postdoctoral research experience is preferred
A capacity to develop upper-level undergraduate electives relevant to pre-medical students is preferred
