EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE REPAIRER LEADER

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for over 1,000 different hand tools to ensure all are functioning correctly including handles on tools which may need replacement
You will perform a wide variety of repair which involves the overhaul and disassembly and assembly of parts, equipment, portable power equipment that consists of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
You will pass on to other workers the instructions received from supervisors and getting work started
You will maintain a current knowledge, and answer questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives
You will check work while in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met
You will assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Ability to lead or supervise
Ability to use a variety of both routine and some complex mechanical and electrical operating characteristics of tools, High Torque Volt systems, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to be able to troubleshoot rework, disassemble, repair, reassemble, replace and test equipment
Ability to check parts and replace worn or broken parts, such as bearings, bushings, '0' rings, seals, defective wiring (except in electric motors) etc
Ability to work from plans, technical manuals, sketches, and diagrams to determine clearances, torque pressures, calibration, make measurements of great precision and complexity for proper adjustment of assemblies and completion of tasks
Ability to determine when tools and equipment should be sent to test, repair, and/or calibration shops
Ability to use hand tools, precision measuring tools and devices, power equipment and shop machinery to complete disassemble, rework, repairs, balancing, and assembly of items
Ability to navigate and use Electronic Facility & Equipment Maintenance program 'EFEM'
