Data Center Design Engineer–Mechanical, Cooling System
Oracle’s Data Center Engineering team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in designing mechanical systems for data centers. The role involves developing standardized mechanical design packages, defining architectures for redundancy and reliability, and leading cross-functional integration to produce coordinated design deliverables.

Responsibilities
Develop standardized mechanical design packages for white and grey space, including modular reference designs for air- and liquid-cooled solutions
Develop equipment specifications covering capacities, performance curves, materials compatibility, environmental ratings, certifications/compliance, and detailed submittal requirements
Define architectures for redundancy and reliability; ensure concurrent maintainability and alignment with uptime targets
Lead cross-functional integration across mechanical, electrical, and controls by defining interfaces and dependencies, and produce clear, coordinated design deliverables
Link design intent to commissioning and validation, and feed lessons learned back into the standards
Own the standards lifecycle and ensure compliance with ASHRAE/local codes and internal policies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
12+ years of experience in mechanical design for critical infrastructures
Experience with air- and liquid-cooled topologies, Direct-To-Chip, Manifold, CDU, QD, UQDB, RDHX and redundancy schemes
Working knowledge of ASHRAE standards
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical discipline
Professional Engineering (PE) license
Proficiency with CAD/BIM (AutoCAD/Revit)

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
