Principal Court Clerk - Criminal Traffic Information
The State of Missouri is seeking a Principal Court Clerk to work within the Missouri Circuit Courts. This role involves advanced court case processing, customer service, and supervision of court personnel, requiring independent judgment and interaction with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Perform supervisory and technical clerical work in the Criminal Traffic - Information & Initiation Department which will include the following duties: Direct supervision in the overall management of the section; use independent judgement; extensive contact with judges, attorneys, court personnel, and the public; train, coordinate, and schedule daily work assignments of clerks assigned to initiate criminal and traffic cases; assist in the movement and storage of criminal and traffic court records; assist in the preparation and implementation of new and revised procedures and processes; scan paperwork in computer system and accept e-filings on criminal cases; use proper discretion with confidential information; prepare calendar of court dates twice year; prepare a daily report for department; answer inquiries and furnish information to judges, attorneys, court personnel, other agencies, and the public in person, electronically and by telephone; and perform other duties as required
Performs case processing in receiving and initiating case files; performs technical duties such as reviewing judgments, preparing warrants, summonses, garnishments and executions, bond settings, and docket control
Reviews legal documents for necessary information required for filing; determines processing required and takes necessary action in accordance with court rules requiring a detailed knowledge of applicable terminology, rules, and procedures
Performs accounting duties in receiving and disbursing monies, reconciles financial accounts, and prepares daily and monthly financial reports
Prepares a variety of documents related to court operations including court orders, court calendars, notices of hearings, court appearances or reports, and coordinates the flow of documents necessary for court assignments; and properly queues electronically filed proceedings for processing
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning and three years of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties, one year of which in a supervisory capacity
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education
Preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws and legal factors pertaining to the court
Comprehensive knowledge of organization operations, functions and scope of authority of the court
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while handling a high-volume workload in an environment subject to frequently changing priorities and high stress
Ability to exercise good judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with general policy and objectives
Ability to maintain a variety of complex records and prepare reports from an automated system
