The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for tennis in the U.S., focused on promoting the sport at all levels. They are seeking a Director of Corporate Development to secure new revenue partners, implement sponsorship strategies, and cultivate relationships within the corporate sector to support the Foundation’s mission.

Responsibilities

Responsible for a $2M+ financial goal secured through corporate partnerships
Create and implement a corporate sponsorship strategy through various corporate channels and oversee fulfillment
Create and maintain relationships with key corporate representatives at Fortune 500 companies, endemic companies, and corporations that philanthropically align to the Foundation’s mission and programs
Represent the USTA Foundation at public, private, and corporate events
Lead, direct, and implement all phases of the business development cycle, including prospecting and cultivation, business development meetings, strategy development, presentation and proposal design, letters of agreement, budgets, and contract negotiations
Work closely with other Foundation department heads and team members on funding opportunities and related programs, including design and proposal development
Work closely with others to ensure high-quality contractual fulfillment
Prepare monthly and quarterly sales reports showing pipeline development and revenue projections
Develop and implement new and creative strategies to identify, engage, pursue, and secure new partners, with a primary focus on national partnerships to support the strategic growth plan
Oversee the creation and cultivation of a portfolio of prospective corporate partners through research, networking, email campaigns, cold-calls, and by maximizing relationships with current partners
Prepare top-notch materials and pitches that can be delivered virtually or in person to develop new relationships

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in corporate sponsorship or development fundraising, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role
A strong portfolio of senior industry contacts and a working knowledge of marketing and sponsorship nuances to craft and close large deals
Demonstrated track record leading both internal and external client relationships throughout various stages of partnership sales funnels, including key sponsor meetings throughout the year, such as mid-partnership reviews, end-of-year recap calls, renewal pitches, etc
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into compelling partnership opportunities
Proven track record of securing and managing high-value, cause-related corporate revenue partnerships across a variety of sectors
Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with a strong network in the corporate sector
Strong written and verbal presentation and pitch development skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
Passion for the mission and cause-related sponsorship investments/integrations; tech innovation and more; bringing fresh, relevant sponsorship ideas and market trends forward
Excellent negotiation and deal-structuring capabilities, with a deep understanding of sponsorship metrics, KPIs, and ROI
Strong project management skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
