Responsibilities

Work with multiple departments, customers, municipalities, outside consulting firms, and other utilities to gather information in order to execute projects accurately and in a timely manner

Work with elected officials and employees of city, county and state entities to effectively service customers

Gather project information, prepares estimates, and analyzes data and designs electrical and/or gas distribution facilities

Represents the company in service extension negotiations related to service locations

Ensure customer obligations are met, negotiates and secures payment of projects, researches easement rights, and maintains completion of construction within specified timeframes

Identify, evaluates, and if necessary, corrects pre-existing issues related to compliance with governmental regulations, code violations, and CenterPoint Energy standards. Corrective action may require negotiation with customers related to safety, cost, and legal responsibility

Review facilities for compliance with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), state, city and county governmental ordinances and CenterPoint Energy standards. Also, must have working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)

Perform field inspections as needed for final project approval, foreign cable attachments, customer installed facilities, and miscellaneous customer requests

Required

Currently pursuing a degree with a concentration in construction science, construction management, engineering technology, business, or marketing

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Valid Driver's license

Able to work a varied schedule with projects and deadlines requiring the ability to meet changing demands
