They are seeking an SEC and Financial Reporting Intern to assist with the preparation, review, and reporting of the company’s financial results, while also performing analyses to support management's decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

Prepare and compile various financial reports using Excel and other reporting tools to assist in the monthly financial review process, some of which are used in the company’s quarterly earnings releases and calls
Review and provide feedback on existing report preparation instructions and suggest process improvements to ensure completeness and accuracy
Identify opportunities for automation within the Financial Reporting or General Accounting processes
Collaborate with the team to explore AI-driven solutions for streamlining report preparation and reducing manual effort
Assist with preparation of management reporting packages and other operational reports as needed
Assist in performing ad-hoc project analyses to assist management in operational decision-making
Review select financial data used in the company’s public filings and press releases to ensure accuracy
Participate in monthly and / or quarterly planning meetings and provide feedback to ensure clear, concise and timely communication
Support and participate in training sessions to learn technical accounting and financial subjects relevant to the company

Required

Must have High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor's degree
0-2 years' work experience
Good written and verbal communication skills
Team player

Working knowledge of Word
Proficient in Excel
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Ability to work overtime as needed
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
Ability and willingness to abide by Granite's Code of Conduct on a daily basis
Valid driver's license and ability to drive
