Responsibilities

Support the early stages of the project lifecycle, including identifying needs and solutions, conducting financial feasibility analyses, building and delivering the business case to customers, and engaging with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders to originate new transmission opportunities for NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET)
Support due diligence activities for potential partnerships and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the CAISO and WECC regions
Collaborate with NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) partners and the development team to characterize, vet, and advance transmission projects
Engage in relevant regulatory and stakeholder processes at CAISO, CPUC, and the CEC
Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required

High School Grad/GED
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 5+ years
Experience in electric transmission (ideally in the West) and/or business development at an infrastructure developer – e.g. regulated utility, ISO/RTO, or developer experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong stakeholder engagement skills
Strong project management skillset
Analytical skills and commercial judgment
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word as requirements; experience with Salesforce as a plus
