They are seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Interior Design who will facilitate student learning, develop instructional strategies, and engage with community partners to promote student success.

Responsibilities

Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement

Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful

Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation

Support the college by engaging with the division, department, and team members, as well as staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives

Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners

Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful

Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices and teaching through professional development activities, networking with regional industry leaders, and the integration of new techniques and technology

Required

Bachelor's degree in related and appropriate field. (Based on experience and expertise, an individual with an Associate's Degree or equivalent may be considered)

Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, of which at least one year shall be within five years prior to date of hire

One year of recent related occupational experience may be waived if the instructor has at least two years of post−secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within five years prior to date of hire

Proficient in computer aided design (CAD)

Proficient in business and management principles

Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of, and throughout employment as an instructor

Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job specific licensing standards

Proficiency utilizing learning management system

Strong verbal communication skills

Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances to meet student needs

Communicate effectively and professionally with various audiences

Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by embracing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods

Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted
