The primary role of the intern is to assist financial analysts in preparing financial analyses and calculations related to tax-exempt bond financings to ensure compliance with federal tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
Assist the analysts to prepare various financial analyses and calculations relating to tax-exempt bond financings
Gather historical investment information and analyze such information using various spreadsheet models to determine investment returns and federal tax compliance
Assist the analysts to prepare arbitrage reports which includes a summary of all assumptions and methodologies and the calculations for governmental clients
Assist in the development of financial models
Prepare yield calculations
Prepare loan amortization schedules
Conduct complex allocation analyses
Perform swap/hedge analysis
Create presentations and marketing materials
Conduct research
Qualification
Required
enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree
ability to assist in preparing various financial analyses and calculations
ability to gather historical investment information and analyze it using spreadsheet models
ability to prepare arbitrage reports
ability to assist in the development of financial models
ability to prepare yield calculations
ability to prepare loan amortization schedules
ability to conduct complex allocation analyses
ability to perform swap/hedge analysis
ability to create presentations and marketing materials
ability to conduct research
Preferred
preferably in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or other technical field
knowledge of fixed income securities
general market principles
spreadsheet and database applications
accounting principles
