Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities of this position include excellence in teaching undergraduate courses in accounting and service to advance the mission of the accounting program and the instructor’s school, university, and the academy. The standard teaching load for the position is 24 credit hours a year, or a 4/4 teaching load. Classes may be on-campus, online, or hybrid. The individual hired for this position may be assigned to teach graduate courses as needed
The candidate will also be required to maintain their qualification as a Scholarly Academic or an Instructional Practitioner
The School of Accountancy holds separate AACSB accreditation. All accounting faculty are required to contribute to the maintenance of separate AACSB accreditation

Required

A master's degree in accounting or other business-related field with 18 graduate-level credit hours in accounting
Must meet the requirements of either an 'instructional practitioner' or 'scholarly practitioner' in accounting for AACSB accreditation purposes
A minimum of five years of professional experience in the practice of accounting
Currently a licensed Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Management Accountant
Evidence of excellence in collegiate teaching and institutional/professional service for candidates with prior employment in higher education
Deliver high-quality instruction in a face-to-face, online, and hybrid format
A commitment to student learning
Maintain currency in the individual's area of expertise within the accounting discipline and bring that knowledge into the classroom
Become a fully engaged member of the faculty working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, which includes service to the school, college, university, and profession
Demonstrate a history of working well with others in a work environment
Active participation in maintaining the currency of the curriculum and in assessment of learning
A passion for teaching, engaging with students and student clubs, and mentoring students
The ability and willingness to engage with the professional accounting and business community

Preferred

Experience in public or corporate accounting
Experience teaching face to face / hybrid / flipped / online classes at the university level
Experience with assurance of learning
