Research Faculty - Psychiatry & Behavioral Health (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking faculty members in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. The role involves leading research projects, mentoring trainees, and developing a strong scholarly reputation in the fields of Psychiatry, Neuroscience, and Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

Serves as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on sponsored research grants and on original research projects
Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the areas of Psychiatry, Neuroscience, and Behavioral Health
Develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain funding to support research program
Secures and maintains NIH RO1 or equivalent funding
Writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals
Attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences
Develops national and international scholarly reputation
Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees
Participates in division, department, college and university committees and initiatives

Required

Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D.) with specialization in Psychiatry or Clinical Psychology from an accredited program
Following accredited training pathways in alignment with suitability for licensure and clinical practice in the State of Ohio
Those with clinical degrees must be licensed in Ohio by the time of appointment
Individuals with substantial research programs and funding, and without clinical training or eligibility may be considered for this role (e.g., Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience or similar), provided they are actively interested in, and demonstrate prior commitment to training clinical professionals and supporting clinical care
Strong record of external research funding
Expertise in developing, leading or substantially contributing to research, education, and clinical programs
Advancing an externally funded program of research
Publishing research in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals
Mentoring trainees across levels of academic development
Participating in division, department, college and university committees and initiatives

Preferred

Expertise in randomized clinical trial designs, or related personalized treatment approaches
