Responsibilities
Own end-to-end software design and development for major components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure, with a strong focus on highly available Block Storage services
Develop scalable solutions that serve mission-critical cloud workloads, including advanced AI and machine learning applications
Be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, with hands-on experience in designing large-scale distributed systems that can elastically scale
Be comfortable diving deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as designing broad distributed system interactions
Value simplicity and scalability, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to continuously learn
Qualification
Required
4+ years of experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems, with a focus on block storage solutions that power demanding cloud workloads—including AI and machine learning applications
Strong knowledge of C++ and/or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, etc
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures
Strong understanding of block storage systems, NoSQL systems, and distributed persistence technologies, with an emphasis on scalability and reliability for modern enterprise and AI/ML use cases
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills in distributed environments
Preferred
Working familiarity with NVMe, NVMe over Fabrics, SPDK, storage virtualization, and iSCSI is highly desired, especially in optimizing block storage for high-performance environments supporting AI/ML workloads
Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized storage infrastructure using modern C++ is a strong plus, particularly for applications serving high-throughput AI and machine learning workloads

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
