Responsibilities

Assess the needs of walk-in and phone callers to ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address those needs
Assist in scheduling initial psychiatric assessment on patients seeking treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis or psychiatric or emotional disorders and presents symptoms to psychiatrist for best recommendation of care
Refer and triage patients to other sources of treatment when appropriate
Answer all inquiry calls regarding treatment and the facility, present treatment options, document calls and set appointments for callers seeking treatment
Work with the business office to ensure smooth transition into the admission process
Understand and adhere to hospital compliance plan and code of conduct
Respect confidentiality at all times; follow HIPAA guidelines for disclosing information
Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures
Treat all patients, visitors, and co-workers with dignity and respect
Always appear professional; wear name badge at all times; adhere to uniform standards if applicable
Take initiative to help the team, be flexible when asked to assist in other areas
Consistently demonstrate positive and affirming behaviors even when addressing conflict or stressful situations
Demonstrate concern for overall team and understand how actions affect others; show a positive attitude and contribute to maintaining an enjoyable and productive work environment
Not engage in any unfavorable behaviors such as rumors, inappropriate conversations, etc
Assume responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe environment; demonstrate knowledge of the facility and services provided
Greet all customers in a positive manner and demonstrate sensitivity to customer’s needs
Answer telephone appropriate to department guidelines and avoid excessive transfers
Provide superior customer service while never crossing therapeutic boundaries
Demonstrate ability to listen to patient/customers regarding problematic issues in a non-defensive manner
Adhere to attendance requirements; utilize correct procedure for taking time off
Attend departmental and staff meetings as required
Be accountable and show pride in work; strive to do more than the minimum required; show initiative and complete work in a timely and accurate manner
Acknowledge mistakes and demonstrate willingness to learn and correct them
Demonstrate passion and hustle in all work

Qualification

CPR certificationCrisis Prevention TrainingCustomer serviceTeamwork

Required

High school degree or equivalent
valid driver's license
CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days
May be required to work flexible hours and overtime
With proper credentials, Coordinator may be required to complete vitals check on patients
Understands and adheres to hospital compliance plan and code of conduct
Respects confidentiality at all times; follows HIPAA guidelines for disclosing information
