Manager, Software Engineering (ONSITE)
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in advanced solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. They are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to drive the design, architecture, and development of software systems while supervising a team of engineers in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities
Drive the design, architecture, and development of critical capabilities in an active Agile environment
Demonstrate leadership skills with ability to coordinate the activities of multiple engineers working on a wide range of programs, ensuring successful technical execution and delivery of solutions for the customer
Be adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriately address the intended audience
Identify and evaluate new technologies to increase software development productivity and support strategic product development
Empower engineering staff to excel by ensuring proper training, removing barriers, providing constructive feedback, as well as ensuring proper execution of organizational and department policies and procedures
Support proposal development, including technical solution, price, and schedule content
Ability to travel up to 25%
Qualification
Required
Must have at least 8 years experience with C++ and/or Java
Strong computer science fundamentals: such as data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
DoD Clearance: Secret
Preferred
Direct hands on individual experience with GraphQL, REST, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgresql, Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, Typescript, HTML/CSS, among many other programming languages and related technologies
Experience with Container Orchestration implementation such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
Experience with managing cyber security processes including vulnerability assessments
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, empathetic leadership style
Background in hiring, onboarding, and building a collaborative team culture
Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance
