Responsibilities
Review and triage claims that are presented against Waymo to understand the exposure, how to respond to those claims and how best to protect Waymo, both through claim handling/payment and defense
Provide oversight to claim handling partners to ensure that claims are handled within SLAs and meet Waymo’s expectations
Professional interactions with riders and customers - showing empathy, understanding, and having the knowledge to assist in a variety of situations and manners
Help to create strategies, tools and processes (documenting all) to handle the unique nature of claims in an autonomous vehicle
Qualification
Required
7+ years insurance claim experience (preferably in Auto Liability and General Liability)
Experience working on claim projects and both creating and documenting claim processes but also identifying bottlenecks in processes and being able to escalate and/or provide recommendations for enhancement/improvement
Experience relative to claim handling, to include, but not be limited to the ability to investigate and triage complex claims, with key issue identification skills, and claim evaluation and negotiation skills
Advanced communication skills which are critical to building consensus across areas of influence (external and/or internal relationships), team, and/or matrix environment
The ability to manage a large inventory of claims, maintain SLAs and provide oversight to claim handling partners (whether carriers, TPAs, or otherwise)
Preferred
Experience with US and International markets
CPCU, AIC and/or SCLA
