Sr. Program Manager
Garrett - Advancing Motion is a leader in the automotive industry, and they are seeking a Sr. Program Manager to lead multiple projects from new technology development to production launch. Responsibilities
Lead multiple projects, ranging from new technology development to production launch, which includes project initiation and scope definition partnering with business leadership team, management of program development, coordination of product design, validation, launch and post implementation support
Manage an engineering budget from annual forecasts to expenses control
Assess new product opportunities in alignment to business strategy led tasks including financial, technical feasibility analysis, creation, and evaluation of a detailed program schedule
Lead the transition of new products to production plant management and operations
Develop detailed project plans and manages a cross-functional team and extrapolate and communicate key project deliverables and due dates to the team
Implement a robust team communication strategy to direct the progress of the project according to the established development phases
Update management and customer on progress of programs
Lead and support execute value engineering and resourcing activities from ideation to implementation
Lead mitigation plans and recovery actions to address any issues compromising the program in quality, time, or cost
Provide accurate forecasts and management for the prototype, lab, and capital expenditure
Maintain accurate project information in the eLaunch database to update the cross functional community
Adheres to the phase gate methodology and processes
Lead, coach, and train team members in New Product Initiative (NPI) process
Oversee program costs to meet financial targets in operating income and investments costs
Monitor and ensure that product costs at launch are equal or better than that at the quotation stage
Ensure on-time spending of capital budget and closure of budget accounts
Control cost overruns, prevent need for premium freight, expediting costs, and scrap costs by successfully managing project timelines
Learn and maintain a thorough understanding of business functions to easily facilitate communication flow and decision-making process
Coordinate customer visits and attend meetings face to face at the customer location
Support the Program Management Operating System (Annual Operating Plan, Programs Reviews, Escalations, Presentations to the leadership team)
Fulfilling responsibilities under IATF 16949
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering or Business, or related field
8 years minimum of experience in relevant global program and project management role
8 years of experience in automotive industry
5 years of experience with strong external customer facing experience
5 years of experience with planning, cross-functional resource management, and stakeholder management
5 years of experience proficient in risk management, with adequate knowledge in procurement, manufacturing, and operations activities
5 years of experience with strong analytical skills
5 years of people management experience with direct or indirect reports
3 years of experience proficient in Bill-of-Material cost control
3 years of experience with Forecasting and spend control of Capex
3 years of experience in MS Office, MS Project, SAP
3 years of experience in reading technical drawings, PSW documentation, supplier, and customer demand scheduling
2 years of experience with basic usage of Onshape, PLM (3D Drive), Salesforce tools
Flexible to travel 10%
Employer will accept 2 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
