Graduate Placement Coordinator

Responsibilities
Collaborates and consults with faculty to determine clinical placement needs and experiences for students; identifies agency requirements at each clinical placement location and communicates these to clinical faculty; oversees the development and management of accurate records regarding clinical placements and clinical compliance in Typhon, My Clinical Exchange and other mandated systems; maintains clinical database of approved clinical sites and clinical preceptor compliance requirements; generates reports as necessary. Maintains relationships with providers and schedules orientations as required by agency (HIPAA, EPIC, etc.)
Initiates and maintains effective communication with clinical agencies, preceptors and clinical course faculty regarding clinical sites and placements; participates in formal and informal agency updates on a regular basis; communicates with SON administration on potential preceptor and clinical faculty needs; communicates with Lead Faculty on any clinical issues that may arise during student rotations; collaborates with the SON personnel liaison to ensure students submit clinical clearance documents for clinical experiences
Identifies new clinical sites, affiliations and preceptors and works with the SON Contracts and Accreditation Compliance position to support the establishment of new contracts; maintains positive working relationships with clinical sites, preceptors, faculty and students. Support with preceptor and student recruitment events (Career Fair, CU SON conferences, Prisma conferences)
Plans and prepares clinical orientation for students and clinical faculty each semester; advocates for program and students needs when appropriate; works in close coordination with lead faculty for clinical courses, the Chief Academic Nursing Officer and Director for the School of Nursing and Associate Director of Graduate programs
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing
Some positions require a valid driver's license
Some positions require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Preferred
Master's Degree - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in SC
Licenses - Nurse - APRN Advance Practice
