Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Data Analyst for the Center for Patient Safety Science, which aims to advance patient safety through data-driven insights. The successful candidate will provide analytical support for projects, manage data from various sources, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

Provide data analyst support for CPSS projects
Query the clinical data warehouse to obtain relevant data
Clean, organize, and merge data from multiple sources
Conduct exploratory data analysis
Coordinate with the team to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of data collection and data entry tools and processes
Prepare summary statistics, tables, and figures for reports and presentations under supervision
Perform advanced data analysis under the guidance of data scientists and clinician scientists
Perform additional related duties as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
Ability to work on campus at Columbia University Irving Medical Center
Strong project management and multitasking abilities
Willingness to take initiative and solve problems
Ability to learn new skills and data models
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining good working relationships
Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements

Preferred

Master's degree in data science, computer science, or related field
Proficiency in SQL
Proficiency in Python or R
Background in statistics
Ability to independently conduct exploratory data analysis
Experience working with healthcare data
