Required

Two years of journey level experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of communications and electronic equipment
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by technical instruction in electronic communication systems installation and maintenance
Completion of academic, military, or vocational programs leading to an associate degree in electronics or communications technology or its equivalent
Four years of experience performing network and systems support, installation, maintenance, and repair of communications and electronic equipment, including experience in the following: phone based exchange (PBX) administration, voice over IP (VoIP), network video monitoring systems (NVMS), wired/wireless network infrastructure and operation of land mobile radio (LMR) equipment, or radio over IP (RoIP), data networking infrastructure and microwave networks comparable to a Communications Systems Specialist I in Napa County
Possession of a valid California Drivers' License
If qualifying under Pattern 2 for Communication Systems Specialist II, possession of a valid General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL) issued by the Federal Communications Commission
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours
Standby call-back availability
Significant travel to remote sites throughout the County, including off-road areas

Preferred

CCENT or CCNA, CompTIA, A+, Com TIA Network+, or an equivalent certification is desirable
