Procurement Professional - Third Party Logistics

Responsibilities

Develop and execute global transportation sourcing strategies across parcel, 3PL, LTL/FTL, intermodal, ocean, air, brokerage, and last-mile, translating enterprise strategy into regional execution plans
Lead competitive sourcing events (RFPs/RFQs), carrier and 3PL evaluations, network optimization initiatives, and award decisions to deliver year-over-year savings and working-capital benefits
Negotiate and structure complex transportation contracts, including MSAs, rate agreements, fuel mechanisms, accessorials, SLAs, KPIs, and liability terms aligned with operational realities
Manage carrier, broker, and 3PL performance, using scorecards, QBRs, and performance guardrails to ensure service, cost, and compliance outcomes are realized in the P&L
Analyze freight markets and cost drivers, acting as a market “sensor” to provide pricing, capacity, and risk insights to leadership
Partner cross-functionally with regional operations and stakeholders to balance cost, service, compliance, and risk across a global or multi-region transportation network

Required

Proven procurement and category management experience in third-party transportation and logistics, supporting global or multi-region networks
Deep transportation domain expertise across parcel, LTL/FTL, intermodal, ocean, air freight, brokerage, last-mile, and courier services
Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills, with experience delivering repeatable, sustainable value—not one-time wins
Solid understanding of freight economics and market dynamics, including capacity trends, rate indices, and cost structures
Experience with transportation systems and tools, such as TMS, parcel analytics, and freight audit and payment platforms
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field

Preferred

Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, CSCMP/SCPro
