Cybersecurity Consultant

JPI is seeking a Cybersecurity / Program Protection Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical expertise and guidance in the development, integration, and management of cybersecurity and program protection policies across U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) acquisition programs. The SME will ensure that cybersecurity practices are integrated into acquisition processes, supporting CG Level 1, 2, and 3 acquisitions.

Responsibilities

Provide written and verbal advisory support to USCG personnel, offering expert recommendations and insights regarding Cybersecurity / Program Protection policies and practices
Draft, review, and update policy documents, guidelines, and templates to ensure alignment with DHS and DoD cybersecurity policies
Participate in meetings and consultations with stakeholders to gather information, address cybersecurity concerns, and propose actionable solutions
Support the integration of Cybersecurity / Program Protection into the SELC and RMF, ensuring compliance with NIST SP 800-160 and NIST SP 800-37
Develop and manage acquisition systems to support the integration of Cybersecurity / Program Protection activities into Coast Guard acquisition policies
Review and provide actionable feedback on cybersecurity/program protection acquisition documents and external policies

Required

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, program protection, or system security engineering
Strong understanding of DHS and DoD cybersecurity policies, SELC, and RMF
Experience with NIST SP 800-160 and NIST SP 800-37 frameworks
Demonstrated ability to conduct CPI and criticality analyses, and to develop Program Protection Plans
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Preferred

Experience supporting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or U.S. Coast Guard programs
Familiarity with USCG acquisition processes and large-scale enterprise integration efforts
Experience supporting the Acquisition Lifecycle with cybersecurity and program protection integration
