Responsibilities

Expected to respond in the event of a fire, medical, or environmental emergency
Helps enforce the parking program for Vermont campus locations
Informs people on campus about physical safety and security policy and procedures
Secures premises by patrolling property and monitoring surveillance equipment and access points
Processes visitors and greets guests to campus
Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior
May control traffic by directing drivers
Prepares draft reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
Monitors building environment and reports irregularities and problems to shift supervisor
Capable of promoting an effective culture of safety and security for the enterprise

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be CPR/First Aid certified or be able to achieve certification within 3 months
Must have and maintain a clean driving record
Valid driver's license
Entry level knowledge of physical security programs within a corporate environment
Adequate verbal and written communication skills
Adequate interpersonal and customer service skills
Entry level knowledge of physical security
Entry level knowledge of security electronics and technology
Basic knowledge of Windows, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours
Must be able to stay alert at all times
Must be able to operate a company vehicle
Must be able to respond to Vermont campus in under 1 hour when 'on call'

Preferred

Some physical security experience or law enforcement or emergency management
