BBYO Genesis Fellow, Nashville, TN
BBYO is committed to enhancing the Jewish experience and is looking for a passionate BBYO Genesis Fellow to join their team. The fellow will play a pivotal role in engaging with teens, creating impactful programs, and fostering leadership within the community through collaboration with the Nashville JCC.

Responsibilities
Working directly with teens (grades 8 to 12) To create impactful, fun and dynamic programs in their local chapters
Monitoring team leaders and delivering leadership training
Working with teens to attract and retain members to build and grow chapters
Guiding teams and establishing an annual calendar for each chapter that drives engagement and recruitment through meaningful programming
Building and maintaining relationships with key volunteers, partners, parents and stakeholders in the community
Recruiting new members to join BBYO and to attend summer programs
Facilitating the planning process alongside team leaderships and colleagues for regional events, including overnight conventions
Working alongside colleagues to bring new, innovative and fun ideas to the community
Assisting with mass communication tools including but not limited to newsletters, social media and phone follow-ups
Tracking regional data such as membership prospects and program logistics
Empower and inspire staff, teens, volunteers and advisors through your mentorship, coaching and training
Employee’s primary responsibility in the summer will be to manage the Nashville JCC Maccabi Games program: outreach, promotion, recruitment, management of the coach/assistant delegation head, training, and attending the games and delegation head meetings as organized by JCCA
As part of their role as Nashville JCC staff, the Genesis Fellow will also be responsible for: administration of the Kehillah Award, given each year to an outstanding Jewish teen
Participation in other JCC community-wide programming: Kosher Nashville Hot Chicken Fest, Hanukkah Fest, Jewish Food Festival
Qualification
Required
1-3 years of work experience
A bachelor's degree or higher
Attend all regional conventions and major events, as well as JCC community events, BBYO's staff conference, and staff BBYO's International Convention each year
Ability to travel regularly throughout the region and to organization-wide events
Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends) when teens are available
Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship
A general knowledge of Jewish culture and calendar
Organized with an attention to detail
Commitment to relationship building, networking and customer service
Excellent communication skills
Creativity and problem solving
Confidence to take initiative to work independently and as part of a supportive team
Preferred
Experience with youth or teens is preferred
Must reside in Nashville, TN area
