Energy Trading Analyst (I, II, III or Senior)

Assist in analyzing energy, capacity, and carbon market variables and current market conditions
Support development and maintenance of power supply, demand, and price curve models
Review energy transactions for accuracy and compliance with risk management guidelines
Assist with forecasting, reporting, and portfolio performance monitoring
Support compliance analysis related to renewable energy and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Reporting to the Director of Energy Structuring & Trading, the Energy Trading Analyst I supports wholesale energy marketing and trading activities through quantitative and economic analysis
This entry-level role assists with modeling, market analysis, and transaction review to help maximize the value of Chelan PUD's energy portfolio while ensuring alignment with risk management guidelines
Assist in analyzing energy, capacity, and carbon market variables and current market conditions

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic knowledge of energy markets, finance principles, and contract administration
Familiarity with federal and state power industry regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data visualization tools
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
